Becoming an Umpire

It is expected that all players will be familiar with the basic rules.

Players who represent the province might be expected to have a minimum of club umpire certification.

Anyone in Canada can write the online examination.

PTSO (Provincial Territorial Sports Organization) are responsible for developing club and provincial umpires. TTCAN is responsible for developing all national, international and blue badge umpires.

Some Provinces may choose to offer a short seminar to prepare a select group of people with the opportunity to review the basic rules and write an examination altogether.

This could be a school group or a group identified by the Provincial Association that would like to prepare for a future Championship.
